The body of a Korean national kidnapped by suspected Abu Sayyaf members last January was found in Patikul, Sulu, on Saturday night, October 31, more than 9 months since the abduction.
The body of Nwi Seong Hong, 70, was found at the vicinity of Sulu State College in Barangay Bangkal, Patikul, Sulu, around 10:30 pm on Saturday.
Investigators said the victim died due to severe illness while being held by his abductors in the municipality of Indanan. Hong’s body was then left near the school after his death.
The 70-year-old Korean national and his son were abducted by unidentified armed men in Barangay Poblacion in Zamboanga Sibugay province last January 24.
