1) In Zamboanga City Archbishop Romulo Valles is apprehensive over the scant information in the week-old abduction of Italian priest Fr. Giancarlo Bossi in Zamboanga Sibugay province. In a radio interview, the prelate said he was deeply concerned that the kidnappers have yet to ask for any ransom or have made attempts to seek a compromise. Valles said he is afraid that if the captors are “cornered” they might do “something bad” to Fr. Bossi. (Malaya newspaper)
2) Eid Kabalu, MILF spokesman, said the MILF has been cooperating with authorities to ensure the safe release of Bossi. It is believed that Bossi is now being held by a new gang of kidnappers, he added. 3) In Ipil yesterday, sunday 17, at 5 pm, mass, rally and night vigil for the speedy and safe release of Fr. Giancarlo Bossi. During the mass, attended by 400 persons Father Nador Jesulga, the Administrator of the Prelature of Ipil, expressed his feeling regarding ‘father Bossi’ in the day of the Feast of all fathers. The rally was conduct peacefully around the town of Ipil carrying candels and plackards. The prayer vigil terminated at 4 am of today. Among the partecipants people from Payao and other parishes of the Prelature. Father Giancarlo has been serving the Prelature of Ipil since 1982.
